My lovely is preparing for her wedding day for the end of June. I made the decision to have a bridal shower for her at our house. Her favorite flowers have always been daisies & carnations. I went to the neighboring farmers market the day before the shower & bought large bunches of daisies & carnations to make flower arrangements for the shower. I had gone to the floral shop the week before to purchase floral arrangements, but after seeing the how much they cost I decided to create them myself. The florist is the one that suggested that I go to the farmers market to buy the flowers, particularly since they were both in season. I thought it may be like a flea market as well, and I could grab some wholesale wedding favors. By buying the flowers that were in season I was able to spend even less.

When I got back home from the farmers market I cut the stems of the daisies & carnations to different lengths & made arrangements in three crystal vases to place around the house. I still had enough flowers left to do a petite arrangement for the bathrooms. It's always a nice touch to place fresh-cut flowers in the bath-room when you're entertaining. When you do your own flower arrangements you can use your own vases, which adds to the special touch.

The morning of the bridal shower I checked the arrangements to see if they needed more water. They were still appearing fresh & the bright colors of the flowers gave the rooms feels warm & homey.

My niece enjoyed the lovely and wonderful gifts that the guests had brought. & she hadn't even seen the wholesale wedding favors I bought yet! We visited and gave pieces of advice to the bride about having a long & glad marriage. I had framed some pics that I had gotten from the mom of the bride and mother of the groom. I had photos of the two of them growing up in addition to pics of the 2 of them on various vacations that they've taken together. My niece was so satisfied with these that she decided to use them at the wedding reception also, together with the wholesale wedding favors. We also ate a light lunch and had cake that I had also decorated with fresh cut flowers.
